aaaaaaaagh_sky: (Enclave soldier)
This is Peter Tarzey. He’s twenty-one. His side lost.

He was born in Four States Commonwealth and moved to Columbia Commonwealth when he was just a boy, and he enlisted as a soldier as soon as he was old enough, and he had promise. Everything had promise once. The Enclave were guardians of that promise. And they lost.

Oh, he got back to Raven Rock fast enough, and he brought word to Colonel Autumn. And they deployed Ryan and Wells and the rest of the Dogboys, and they captured 101. And for a few hours, everything was right with the world. Corporal Tarzey got a commendation and a promise of promotion. The Dogboys were bumped up to Sigma Squad status and sent to Adams AFB for crawler duty. Everything was right.

Only it wasn’t. It was never going to be right again.

101- Tarzey’s still not clear on this, how it happened or why- 101 got taken to see the President. That was the last anyone living saw of her; that was where everything went to Hell. She was in there with President Eden for twenty minutes, and then Raven Rock exploded. Maybe a tenth of its personnel survived. Colonel Autumn took command in the absence of a living vice-president and ordered the water purifier reinforced. 101 and the Brotherhood showed up with an American giant war robot in tow and under their control, and the purifier was lost and Autumn died. Adams made contact with an old Bradley-Hercules orbital defense platform, and took out the robot, but 101 and the Brotherhood swept through the satellite uplink like a two-thousand-degree backdraft anyway. Captain Devlin went hunting for deathclaws in Olney, only 101 and her greenskin and a dozen other freaks found his camp first, and his own deathclaws tore him apart.

And then it was quiet for a while.

And then 101 came to Adams.

There might be a handful of Enclave personnel left in Chicago. Might is the operative word. Pete doesn’t know. Nobody knows. The crawler base is gone. Adams is gone. The satellite uplink is gone. Raven Rock is gone. Colonel Autumn is dead. President Eden is dead. Every last bastion of hope they had in the Capital is gone. If anyone survives in Chicago, Peter wishes them luck, but sometimes there are truths you have to face, and this is one of them: he’s not Corporal Tarzey any more. He’s Peter Tarzey, and his side lost, and America is well and truly dead.
