Grayditch

The scene that presents itself to the people arriving from Milliways is one of devastation old and new. The shattered, weathered remains of what had once been a city street spill out to either side, and half-standing, half-slumping outer walls are all that remain of most of the buildings. There are no people here, no animals, no life to be seen...

Well, no. That's not necessarily true. Here and there, fires burn merrily, and the occasional scratching scuttling sound can be heard on the sullen August winds that wind through the empty streets.

"This is it," Ellen says. "Welcome to Grayditch."

"Works for me. Lets take care of the ants quickly and move himn to safety next."

Val simply nods, staring one of the cars. "How large is the nest likely to be?" she asks. "We could take one of the car's reactors with us and use it to do the work for us if the nest is big enough. How big of an explosion would one of those cause?"

Ellen looks blankly at Val, and then at Bryan, who's busy trying to get the box of Salisbury steak open. "I don't know how big the nest is," she says, "but-"

She walks over to the nearest car, then walks away a significant distance.

"This is about the blast radius on the cars I"ve seen explode."

Spoon is quiet for a moment, then says, "I can survive sommat like that." it's slow, "Between the healing and the armour. Rather not, but if we have to do it." he can take the rear. Whatever. He shrugs.

"If we need to blow up something, I have four pounds of C-4 on the bottom of my pack, and detonators too."

Tanya does not like the idea of using fusion cells as emergency demolition devices.

"That is a much better idea," Val says relieved. She really didn't like her idea but it seemed worth mentioning at least. "Less variables and we don't pollute this ecosystem any more than we have to."

Val's relieved? Yuuno's ecstatic. Some part of him wants to hug Tanya for having a saner alternative.

"Either way," he says, "Let's please be careful. I've pulled out of situations where the structures where collapsing because of the fight. It's never good."

Ellen nods. "All right. Let's head on down to the station."

Tanya might not oppose a hug, really. But that is a matter for another time, now it is an occasion for killing bugs.

Also, the 'saner' part is open to discussion, considering she carries explosives nearly everywhere.
