OOC: Heads up to those who are interested!

A Falloutverse plot prospect that I would like to run by people. Provoked by watching a friend play Fallout 4, and only just now, after ploughing through a great deal of other stuff, encounter the 2287 version of the Brotherhood of Steel.

I'm basically considering doing some AU stuff. Details behind the cut. Also spoilers for FO4 to some degree. )

OOC: The next few plot possibilities

So I've finished with FO3 canon, since I have no intention of sending Ellen back to Point Lookout to find any of the other stuff that wasn't involved in the main quest or the Dark Heart of Blackhall quest. (And as far as I'm concerned, the Millicanon version of the Dunwich Building contains no Virulent Underchambers; I may be a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos in RL but that doesn't mean it has to be crossbred into everything I read and RP, kthx). I have a number of ideas for where to go with Ellen and her world from here, but the bigger ones will be waiting until Bethesda and/or Obsidian come clean about their plans for Fallout 4. Fortunately, there are plenty of other options in the meantime. I'd just like to take a sounding on stuff people might be interested in.

Possibility One: Doc Scurlock brought a flock of sheep to Milliways for Ellen, because there's a lot of formerly frozen people being beamed down from the alien starship in orbit. They've been sent with about four hundred years' worth of alien-stolen supplies, but they need a proper agricultural base; they've got some plants going thanks to Jack of the Green and the seeds from Oasis, but the sheep will start amping up the local protein intake and provide wool to boot. There's just the problem of getting the sheep from the vicinity of Megaton to the vicinity of Canterbury Commons. Who's up for something almost but not entirely unlike a cattle drive? NB: this one will require Doc Scurlock to be up for travel since he is, after all participating.

Possibility Two: In canon, there's an area called the Deathclaw Sanctuary in the northwestern Wasteland. It's not really a sanctuary, just an area with a lot of caves and tunnels and deathclaws and dead Enclave. It's also near the Enclave's old headquarters at Raven Rock. In Millicanon I'm scootching it a bit farther north and west, out of the Brotherhood's easily-searchable range. I'd like to have this one be an investigation mission prompted by Brotherhood worries about somebody trying to use old Enclave technology to build an army of deathclaws. It will turn into a PUNCH THINGS A WHOLE LOT mission and will probably also involve giant scorpions, because really, what makes giant killer lizards more fun than having to deal with scorpions the size of a Buick? NB: no sapient beings are going to be harmed in the making of this plot, so if your character has issues with killing thinking beings but wants some violence anyway, feel free to come along. Because scorpions.

... I thought I had more possibilities lined up than that. Oh well. More next time.

OOC: Plots! Who's interested?

So one of the wonders of an open-world game like FO3 is how many options there are for further plotting once the canon is over. I'll eventually get around to running through Point Lookout, once I've figured out how to best make it not grossly offensive, but for now I've got a bunch of other potential plots on tap. Have a look, see if you're interested:

Super Mutant Mayhem! )

RobCo Resurrection )

Tenpenny Tower- not the canon quest of the same name. )

Evergreen Mills )

The Signal )

Rock Creek Caverns )

The Armory )
